BANK OF AFRICA banks on mobile with Clear2Pay

The BANK OF AFRICA group pursues its innovative multi-channel growth strategy with Mobile Internet Banking

SIBOS, Osaka, 30 October 2012 – Clear2Pay, the international technology provider of next generation payment and e-banking solutions for financial institutions announces today that the BANK OF AFRICA group, subsidiary of BMCE Bank and a major African Bank Group, has selected its Mobile Internet Banking (MIB) solution to facilitate their customers with mobile financial services in 13 launching countries.

BANK OF AFRICA group has grown rapidly into being a major player in 14 countries servicing today over 1,4 million bank accounts, an increase of 24% since 2011. As such the group is a major investor in the economic development of the African continent, which has become the second largest mobile market in the world with over 50% of internet transactions taking place through mobile devices. The bank has made it a focus to innovate and be the facilitator of this new reality of their clients.

Building on its success with Clear2Pay’s OPF e-Banking solution, which the bank runs in SaaS mode, the bank aimed to deploy a complementary solutions which would give their retail and corporate clients mobile access to their financial services. The requirements stated that the solution had to offer the same level of service and security as the e-Banking solution on top of being agile and future proof and offering an intuitive user interface.

Besides the fact that the Mobile Internet Banking solution of Clear2Pay fit the given requirements, the bank also opted for this solution because of the full integration with the existing e-Banking application, which facilitated a rapid deployment for their customers and for the bank users, who did not need further education. Because of the SaaS deployment, the going live of the mobile environment was completely executed by Clear2Pay and offered to BANK OF AFRICA in a flexible pay-per-user model.
