Clear2Pay implements new Corporate2Bank solution
at ANZ Bank
Next generation payment system enables
ANZ Bank (Australia) to offer a new payables and receivables service
(ANZ WebLink) over the Internet.
Sydney/Brussels, June 6, 2005 - Australian and New Zealand
Banking Group Limited (ANZ) has gone live with Clear2Pay's corporate
electronic payments platform to meet the demands of their corporate
customers for an internet-based, flexible and protected payment
environment. Clients can now deliver payments directly from their
host-to-host system or manually via a thin-client browser.
The solution is a jointly developed next generation corporate2bank
payments platform, based on the proven technology from Sienna Technologies,
which merged with Clear2Pay in 2004. The corporate2bank solution
is designed to reduce operational silos, increase Straight-Through-Processing
whilst reducing manual processing, and offer a bank the ultimate
in flexibility for the provision of value added payment services
to its customers.
Ahead of increasing market pressure from corporate clients, clearly
voiced at industry events such as Sibos, ANZ decided to meet the
needs of their corporate clients with a range of additional functionality.
To name but a few: clients can now electronically send bulk payments,
remittance advices and cheques, receive information on returned
items and statement information on nominated accounts.
Warren Gardiner, VP Australasia for Clear2Pay has been involved
with the project since its inception: "ANZ realised over a
year ago already that their corporate customers really deserved
a more flexible product in terms of being able to handle different
formats, improved straight-through processing and scalability. We
were delighted to be selected to provide this platform for a reputable
bank such as ANZ. Corporate payments have always been core to our
product offering and we have translated market needs such as ability
to handle multiple standards and the inclusion of remittance data
in our end-to-end payment offering."
Guy Whitcher, Head of Cash Management & Transaction Services
at ANZ Bank states: "Corporate customers are vital to our success
as a leading bank, we wish to demonstrate technology leadership
in order to make sure that our customers benefit through leaner,
more flexible, efficient and user-friendly products. This means
amongst others that the users of our corporate clients can now view,
edit and release payments online and remove limitations on the size
of files processed. Flexibility was a main internal driver behind
this choice, as well as the need to decrease both the level of manual
intervention in the payment chain as well as our reliance on legacy
systems. We have worked with Sienna Technologies for many years
and the merger with Clear2Pay has only strengthened their offer
and positioning."
