Clear2Pay completes B-round funding with additional
investment from Intel.
Brussels, 20 October 2003 Brussels based payments software
vendor Clear2Pay announced today that it has completed its B-round
funding with an additional investment from Intel Capital. The investors
in the B-round included Big Bang Ventures, Koceram, Omega Pharma
and the management. This additional extension brings the total raised
capital to 8,4 million euro.
The board of directors of Clear2pay had the option to extend
the B-round. The extension provides the company with additional
financial means. The funds will be used to enable Clear2pay to further
develop its portfolio of products for the e-payments market segment
and accelerate its growth strategy. We expect financial institutions
to increase spending on payment technology and systems in order
to bring more convenience to customers and bring down costs.
says Michel Akkermans, Chairman and CEO of Clear2Pay.
Stephane Goubau, Intels Director of Strategic Investments
in the Western European Region, states, "This investment is
part of Intel's commitment to invest in ecosystem solutions that
help remove the barriers for efficient e-business."
An international expansion of our shareholding structure
will enable Clear2Pay to execute its expansion plans. A recent example
of this strategy is the acquisition of MaXware Benelux in the Netherlands,
now Clear2Pay Nederland says Jürgen Ingels, co-founder
and CFO of Clear2Pay.
