C++ & GUI Windows application developer - CBK (M/F)

Introduction

Clear2Pay Belgium has built a specific software package “CBK” designed for processing of disputed transactions in the credit/debit MasterCard/ Visa card business. The CBK package can be described as a back-office and database application combining Financial Processing (accounting events), CRM functions (customer relationship management tools) and the specific Clearing and Operational Rules Management (in the credit card business) to process the litigations between the card Issuers and the transaction Acquirers.

CBK software package is to be considered as a back-office “niche” software product marketed worldwide by Clear2Pay Belgium since more than 16 years.

The basic version of CBK package named “CBK V2.5” has been developed while using mostly the programming languages C++ (batch modules) and GUPTA/CENTURA tools (for the GUI interfaces similar to PowerBuilder). The new versions are being developed while using JAVA technologies.

CBK package is being updated every 6 months due to the changing Visa & MasterCard clearing rules. In addition Clear2Pay Belgium develops on a regular basis new functionality and frequently integrates the application within the customer’s local host systems in 18 countries.

Scope of work

To ensure a constant development and support of CBK V2 package and ensure future migration to new Java based technologies.

• analysis of new bi-annual application requirements
• software development within a team of 3 – 4 staff members
• analysis of the current operational problems and support to CBK Consultants & Customers
• analysis and new application developments - extensions to the existing product CBK V2, languages: C/C++, Gupta
• progressive migration from CBK V2 to CBK V3 Java based program version
  

Position within CBK activity

The CBK V2 application developers:

• are “suppliers” to the CBK Consulting and Help desk team
• are reporting to the CBK V2 Release Manager
  

Skills needed

• to have a solid experience in C/C++ GUI Windows developments (like GUPTA, POWERBUILDER & similar) and in batch software developments for the back-office systems
• to be experienced in SQL technologies, databases Oracle and/or DB2
• to have skills in analysis of problems and in management of the multi-module software applications
• to be logical and accurate
• to have good communication skills, able to work within a motivated small team
  

Appreciated but not mandatory skills

• some experience in JAVA
