Introduction
Clear2Pay Belgium nv/sa has built a specific software package “CBK” designed for processing of disputed transactions in the credit/debit MasterCard/ Visa card business. The CBK package is a back-office and database application combining Financial Processing (accounting events), CRM functions (customer relationship management procedures) and the specific MasterCard & Visa Clearing Rules Management (processing of litigations between the card Issuers and the transaction Acquirers).
CBK software package is a “niche software product” marketed worldwide. Clear2Pay Belgium has a leading position on this market since more than 16 years.
The most recent package versions CBK V3 Issuer and CBK V3 Acquirer have been fully developed in Java technologies.
CBK package is being updated every 6 months due to the changing Visa & MasterCard clearing rules modifications. In addition Clear2Pay Belgium develops on regular basis new functionalities, implements new processing architectures and integrates the application within the customer’s local host systems.
The CBK Business Unit team of 28 provides a continuous support of CBK package to all its customers in 17 countries worldwide. The team is a part of more than 400 staff members of Clear2Pay organisation in Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Spain, UK and Poland.
Clear2Pay Belgium is currently intensively developing all possible “automatic test tools” for both GUI functionality and Batch functionality. This is to be used for all tests as needed for checking non-regression of applications after introduction of new business functionality.
Scope of work
Initial objectives
- to learn the CBK chargeback processing software functionality (GUI & BATCH) – back –office financial application managing the claims related to the credit card transactions MasterCard & Visa.
- to build test scenario and scripts for execution of automatic test tools
- to manage the library of Automatic test Tools for both GUI and Batch functionality
- to manage the sets of user data bases and parameters
- to supervise learn the operations of the “automatic testing procedures”
- to build test scripts (specific program developments using the selected languages and tools)
- to build a very powerful library of automatic tests for the execution of standard tests while using the user related data.
- to manage the test reporting procedures
On a cyclic basis:
- bi-annual testing of CBK package updates (Jan-Feb and July-August)
- management of executions of automatic non-regression tests
On-going regular testing objectives
- development of new automatic tests after development of new business functionality or after implementation of any Change Request
Position within CBK activity
The test officers are:
- reporting to the Manager of CBK Test Unit
- behaving as “client” of the CBK development team
- behaving as “supplier” to the CBK consultants team and to CBK Product Manager – External Delivery Manager
Skills needed
- IT professional – graduate or higher level
- to have the basic “IT culture” (skills in scripting, programming in Java, VB, C, C++ are appreciated and useful)
- to be logical and accurate
- to have high communication skills
- to be able to work within a team
- to be very service oriented
- to be practical, but applying the most adequate work methodologies
- to be curious
- to be experienced in SQL technologies
- to be able to define elementary script code (similar to Visual Basics programming)
- to have experience in ORACLE and DB2 database administration and SQL (user level)
Career path
- the Developer of Test Tools can switch to the available positions in the CBK Development team, CBK Consulting team or in CBK Support team and continue his carrier path as Junior or Senior Consultant
