Introduction
Clear2Pay Belgium nv/sa has built a specific software package “CBK” designed for processing of disputed transactions in the credit/debit MasterCard/Visa card business. The CBK package is a back-office and database application combining Financial Processing (accounting functions), CRM (customer relationship management functions) and the specific MasterCard & Visa Clearing Rules Management (processing of litigations between the card Issuers and the transaction Acquirers).
CBK software package is a “niche software product” marketed worldwide. Clear2Pay Belgium has a leading position on this market since more than 15 years.
The most recent version of a package “CBK V3.0 Issuer Version” has been fully developed in Java technologies. The ongoing new developments for the next release CBK V3.1 and for the product re-factoring are focused on the complementary Acquirer processing. The previous version of the package called “CBK V2.5” has been developed while using GUPTA GUI and C/C++ technologies.
Both versions are fully supported by Clear2Pay Belgium and are being delivered to different market segments: banks, card processing centres and merchants in 17 countries.
“CBK” package is being updated every 6 months due to the changing Visa & MasterCard operational regulations. In addition Clear2Pay Belgium develops on a regular basis new functionalities and integrates the application within the customer’s local host systems. In addition the package is updated on a regular basis to incorporate new IT technologies.
The CBK Business Unit team of 25, based in Brussels, is responsible for a continuous development and support of CBK package to all its customers on a worldwide basis. The team is a part of more than 250 staff members of Clear2Pay organisation in Belgium, Netherlands, Australia, USA, Spain and UK. The growing expectations of our customers for new services and for new functionality of our package require the evolution and growth of our organisation within the team, which gives interesting opportunities to all members.
Scope of work
Major responsibilities:
- CBK package Product & Delivery Management (Release and Version management: software modules identifications, configurations, archiving, packaging as needed for distribution to CBK target customers, defining implementation procedures)
- defining the software installation, setup & configuration procedures, building configuration and installation scripts
- management of CBK package parameter configurations as defined for the individual major account customers
- “Release Notes” edition and delivery
- supporting CBK Customers at delivery time: the configuration issues, interfacing issues, installation issues
- support our internal CBK Test Team
- reception and evaluation of internal CBK product deliveries from the Development and Testing Departments
- if possible (not a must) : auditing the internal deliveries received from the CBK development department (code review, test results)
The work objectives are to be fulfilled in a progressive way and while sharing the operational tasks with other team members
Future additional focus:
The Software Package Product & Delivery Manager will be progressively trained in the business requirements area in order to be able to actively participate in the product evolution, change request management, and product implementations
- edition of functional documentation in the form ready for the software development process
- analysis and internal management of Visa and MasterCard new functional / operational requirements
Position within CBK activity
- “member” of CBK Product Management & External Delivery team
- “customer” of the CBK Development and Testing teams at the time of verification of final results after test trails
- “supplier” to CBK Consultants staff and to CBK external customers
- reports to CBK Product Manager
- expected progress: following the path to the Business Analyst position
Skills needed/appreciated
- preferably having a solid engineering background (diploma)
- IT professional used to efficiently deal with different IT software technologies including OS (Windows, Linux), MS Office, command line tools, perl, CVS / Subversion knowledge, SQL, relational database knowledge)
- abstraction and modeling skills
- ability to understand and defend software and system architecture (2 tiers / 3 tiers)
- having some program development skills ( some experience in programming, package developments , configurations and interfacing, ability to read/audit object oriented code at least)
- interested (as a future target) in business analysis ( data flow, database management, interfacing, CRM applications)
- skilled in interpersonal communications, team leading skills will be appreciated
- speaking and writing English, able to write well structured and concise operational Release Notes or specifications documents
- speaking French
- rigorous and pragmatic
- experience in JAVA technologies will be highly appreciated, but is not a must
Other requirements
- open to accept management positions in the near future within CBK management Team
- customer service & problem solving oriented
